SANTA CLARA, Calif. & HSINCHU, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2001--Incentia Design Systems, Inc., an EDA company (Santa Clara, California) in the timing and synthesis market, and Faraday Technology Corporation (Hsinchu, Taiwan), a leading turnkey ASIC service provider, announced today that the companies have teamed up to offer their customers library kits based on Faraday's popular ASIC libraries for use with Incentia's timing and synthesis software. Faraday has also joined Incentia's LibCraft(TM) library partner program.
ASIC library kits help EDA tool customers close on their design issues. They are critical to a successful tapeout. Incentia's TimeCraft(TM) and DesignCraft(TM) now support Faraday's libraries and Faraday is making its library kits available to customers using Incentia's tools.
Tim Liu, Faraday's R&D Vice President, remarked, "We support our ASIC customers by offering library kits that work with tools in their design flow. We are pleased to work with Incentia and announce the library support officially. Today, Incentia's timing and synthesis software products are in use by our customers. We believe this move will bring benefits to our customers and expand our business as well.''
"A library partner program is an important part of competitive edge and strategy to any companies specialized in timing or synthesis. As we continue to expand customer support services for our synthesis and timing software products, it's necessary to support the libraries customers need for achieving predictable timing convergence. We are proud to have Faraday, a leading ASIC design service provider, join our LibCraft library partner program,'' remarked Ihao Chen, president and CEO of Incentia.
About Faraday's Library Kits
Faraday offers highly optimized library kits for modern synthesis tools to meet stringent timing, area, and power goals. Each library contains a rich set of library cells, including complex and/or/invert cells and scan cells, with different driving strengths. It also provides a Programmable I/O on Silicon (PIOS) that allows designers to program I/Os, such as pull up/down, Schmitt trigger, and slew rate controls, even after silicon is made. The benefits include output impedance matching for transmission line loading, optimized output driving for noise reduction, and flexible control on I/O spec. mismatch.
About Incentia's Timing and Synthesis Software Products
Incentia offers timing and synthesis solutions through its TimeCraft software and DesignCraft environment. TimeCraft is a full-chip, gate-level static timing analyzer. It offers the fastest analysis speed with comprehensive features for timing sign-off. DesignCraft is a complete timing and synthesis environment. It incorporates Incentia's TimeCraft timing engine and offers logic, datapath, test and low-power synthesis. It accepts design blocks three to five times bigger than other logic synthesis tools, offers up to a 10x-runtime improvement over other logic synthesis tools, and can result in a 20% die size reduction when compared to alternative solutions.
